Thanksgiving break
Plans and Possibilities: Yesterday, a group of LH students toured Northwood Technical College and UW Eau Claire-Barron County in Rice Lake. Student represented Lake Holcombe well and had great questions during the day. Students not only learned about post-secondary opportunities here, but other campuses as well. They also played some friendly games of ping-pong during our lunch hour. Keep up the great work!

10th grade students participated in the annual career day at Northwood Technical College in Rice Lake this past Thursday. They asked great questions and chose the sessions they wanted to attend. Students were exposed to hands on experiences in cosmetology, EMS, agriculture, architecture and accounting, among many other career topics. They came back excited about what they learned! 💜🤍

Are you in the 6th-12th grade and ready to join in on all of the fun?! Come check out the Lake Holcombe Archery Team! There will be a brief get together with your coaches during homeroom on Tuesday, November 14th. 🗓️ Also there will be a get to know us and the sport during a mandatory parent meeting on November 14 at 6PM! It will be held in the commons. Come ask any questions you may have and learn about this very unique sport. There are a lot of really exciting and new opportunities coming! The FAFSA looks all different this next year, so there was a lot to learn! And congratulations goes out to Mike as he retires in two weeks! For the month of November, we are excited to highlight another new staff member to our team, Talia Giarrusso. Talia is the school counseling office intern this semester; she has worked in both the daycare and after school setting in the past and is currently a senior at UWEC. Talia is from Marshfield originally and comes to us from Menomonie now. We asked Talia to answer a few questions about herself below. What three traits define you? - Empathetic, friendly, honest What is your personal philosophy? - Be kind to yourself What’s one thing you couldn’t live without? - My siblings What is the greatest challenge you have had to overcome in your life thus far? - Paying for college What is the one thing you cannot resist? - Brownies What is your greatest fear? - Snakes Where is your favorite place to be? - On the lake What is your favorite thing to do? - Travel Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why? - Maine. It was so pretty! I drove along the coast, and it was really cool seeing the way the houses were built compared to here. The food was amazing! I ate a lot of lobster. What does true leadership mean to you? - Someone that takes initiative when it gets tough, cares for others, and takes responsibility when in the wrong.
