Leadership, Sportsmanship, Ice Cream and Cheese Curds!
On Wednesday, four student-athletes from the Student Athlete Leadership Club travelled to Stevens Point Wisconsin at attend the WIAA State Sportsmanship Summit. Lake Holcombe joined 120 other schools from around the state with almost 700 others in attendance. Our kids did a wonderful job acquiring knowledge, understanding and developed ideas to bring back to Lake Holcombe!
Sessions that were attended:
- Understanding the Officials' Perspective
- Letting Students Lead
- Supporting and Instilling Exceptional Sportsmanship
- Unlocking a Season of Significance
Of course, a stop was necessary on the way home for some cheese curds and ice cream so we could take a team photo. Great work to all the students at Lake Holcombe who take on the challenges of leadership! Go Chieftains!

Student-Athletes of the Week!
Chloe Lee has been demonstrating perseverance on the court this year. Though many players are demonstrating this attribute, Chloe does so on a consistent basis. During the Luck game, things got tough, but Chloe made it known to teammates that they could not give up. Later in the week, the girls played a strong Prairie Farm team. The team rose to the competition and played hard because Chloe’s perseverance rubbed off on her teammates. Thank you for your great attitude and perseverance, Chloe! Keep it up!
Brian Strzok has been nominated as athlete of the week based off a solid conference win against Prairie Farm. Brian scored 31 points and pulled down 17 rebounds. He also added 4 assists and 3 steals to his performance that night. Brian also came through in a critical moment in the game by making his free throws to secure the win! Keep up the strong effort, Brian!

Yoga tonight has been cancelled.
