๐Ÿ“ข Message from our School Nurse - Pam Guthman, RN: Given the upcoming heatwave this weekend and into early next week, here are resources to remind all of us about heat-related illness symptoms that can quickly become dangerous. A few highlights: We are serving many sub-populations either at school and/or through our various wonderful events) who are more susceptible. to heat related illnesses. These populations most at risk include: our youngest kiddos, athletes, grandparents who may be 65+, pregnant persons, outside workers, and folks/kids who have chronic health issues (diabetes, cancer, asthma, and other health issues that makes them more vulnerable). Prevention is critically important! Please be aware even minor symptoms (headaches, dizziness, fatigue, heavy sweating, etc. which is indicative of heat exhaustion can quickly turn deadly if interventions are not quickly implemented (shade, cool cloths, hydration, etc.) ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿค
