Happy Holidays from Lake Holcombe School District!

'Tis the Season to Get Stronger!
Four students that come in during our enrichment period hit some weightlifting milestones. Clubs are calculated by adding max lifts for bench press, deadlift and hang cleans. Those who reached the 500 lbs club are: Connor Kane, David Vacho and Donovon Bera. Making the 600 lbs club is Logan Readinger. Nice work and we can't wait to see what you do in 2024!

Please consider donating blood at the Lake Holcombe Town Hall on Thursday, January 18th from 10a - 4p. We would love to help you save a life!

Student-Athletes of the Week!
Emma Lechleitner has been not only contributing to her team on the court, but also with her attitude. Emma plays aggressively and unfortunately fouled out 2 of her 3 games last week. Instead of scooting to the end of the bench making complaints about refs or mentally checking out, Emma stayed engaged and positive. This serves as a good example to her teammates to control what you can. And a lot of the time, it is attitude! Keep it up, Emma!
After a brief hiatus from the basketball team, Trent Nitek came back with a very positive attitude and desire to win. He had a tremendous performance on defense last week against Birchwood which helped Lake Holcombe come away with a W. The game was physical, and with that, emotions can run high and can result in poor sportsmanship. Trent rose above all that by keeping his composure through adversity and persevering until the end. Congratulations and keep up the great work, Trent!
The 12/18/23 regular board meeting has been rescheduled to Wednesday, 12/20/23, at 6pm. Click here for the agenda --> https://5il.co/2ayub

Leadership, Sportsmanship, Ice Cream and Cheese Curds!
On Wednesday, four student-athletes from the Student Athlete Leadership Club travelled to Stevens Point Wisconsin at attend the WIAA State Sportsmanship Summit. Lake Holcombe joined 120 other schools from around the state with almost 700 others in attendance. Our kids did a wonderful job acquiring knowledge, understanding and developed ideas to bring back to Lake Holcombe!
Sessions that were attended:
- Understanding the Officials' Perspective
- Letting Students Lead
- Supporting and Instilling Exceptional Sportsmanship
- Unlocking a Season of Significance
Of course, a stop was necessary on the way home for some cheese curds and ice cream so we could take a team photo. Great work to all the students at Lake Holcombe who take on the challenges of leadership! Go Chieftains!
